- Ask the court how hearings are scheduled. For remote participation, Indiana courts may allow non-testimonial hearings remotely and may allow testimony remotely for good cause or by agreement (Ind. Administrative Rule 14).
- Use the issued letters testamentary or letters of general administration as proof of the personal representative's authority to collect assets, pay valid claims, handle real estate and complete the estate settlement (IC 29-1-10-4).
- Administer and close the estate under the Indiana path the court grants. In an unsupervised estate, the closing statement cannot be filed earlier than three months after the first published creditor notice (IC 29-1-7.5-4).
