A testate estate also involves notice to the surviving spouse, heirs and devisees as required by Iowa Code 633.
- File the report and inventory with the clerk in Montezuma within 120 days after qualification unless the court allows more time, as provided by Iowa Code 633.361. Court costs are based on Iowa Code 633.31.
- Handle claims, debts, taxes, asset sales and distributions. Claims are filed with the clerk and are barred only by the later of four months after the second publication or one month after mailed notice to a reasonably ascertainable creditor, under Iowa Code 633.410.
