The personal representative must publish notice to creditors within 60 days of qualification, once a week for four weeks, and creditors who do not notify the personal representative within three months after the last publication lose equal participation rights (O.C.G.A. § 53-7-41).
- File required follow-up papers. Unless waived, the inventory is filed with the court and mailed to heirs or beneficiaries within six months of qualification (O.C.G.A. § 53-7-30 and O.C.G.A. § 53-7-32).
- Pay valid claims, distribute property, handle any fiduciary compliance report, and close the estate by petitioning for discharge, commonly on GPCSF 33.
