- After appointment, the personal representative collects assets, secures property, handles inventory and appraisement when required, evaluates claims, pays allowed expenses and asks the court for approval before selling estate property when court approval is required.
- If a party wants to use videoconferencing for testimony, Rule 34 requires a notice of intent at least thirty days before the proceeding unless the judge shortens the time. Ask the Pittsburg County Court Clerk what the assigned judge expects when the hearing is set.
- To close the case, file the final account or waiver if allowed, petition for distribution and discharge, give required notice, attend the final hearing, obtain the decree of distribution and discharge, and record any decree affecting land with the county clerk in every county where the land is located.
