The jurisdiction process

Idaho allows a personal representative to publish notice to creditors once a week for three successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county, which starts a four-month claim period from first publication; mailed or delivered notice gives the creditor the later of that period or 60 days after mailing or delivery (Idaho Code § 15-3-801). Publication is permissive under the statute, so ask counsel or the clerk what the case requires before skipping a notice step.
