- Administer the estate by collecting assets, dealing with creditors, distributing property, and closing by the personal representative's closing statement under SDCL 29A-3-1003 or by a court order of complete settlement after notice and hearing under SDCL 29A-3-1001. Known or reasonably ascertainable creditors receive written notice, and publication is a separate step the personal representative may choose under SDCL 29A-3-801.
