Stephen Walter

Stephen Walter is an attorney and the cofounder of Sunset, an estate settlement platform that finds a deceased person's accounts, debts and property and helps the family close them out. Sunset has helped more than 15,000 families settle estates.

Stephen started Sunset after settling an estate himself. He saw how much of the work fell on families with no legal training. Every bank, insurer and brokerage had its own forms and its own rules, and no one told the family where to start.

He is a graduate of the University of Colorado Law School and a member of the Utah State Bar.

Stephen writes Sunset's guides on probate, inheritance, taxes and closing accounts after a death. He writes a monthly column for FuneralVision and has been quoted in MarketWatch and Funeral Director Daily.
